2009 Inductees
Kevin LaChance - Kevin LaChance was inducted into the Hall of Fame as a community member for his service since 1999 as the "Voice of Red Raider Football" and co-sponsorship of the Pre-Season Splash. He has continued his service to the Red Raider Football team after his son's graduation in 2002. Kevin represents the pride and commitment to excellence of the Red Raider community.
Dick Rogers -- Class of 1939. Played Football for Wamego from 1936-1939. Voted All-League 1ST Team Captain and All-Star. In his Senior year the team was undefeated and Jayhawk League Champions. He was also 2ND team All-State. Mr. Rogers also played Basketball for 3 years and his team was the Jayhawk League Champion in 1938 as well as the Pottawatomie Champion. He was an All-League 1ST Team Guard in 1938 & 1939.

Coach John "Spike" Harshbarger. Cross Country and Track Coach at Wamego High School from 1968-1981. During that coaching career he produced: 7 State Track Champions; 49 All-League and 21 All-State Cross Country runners. His Boys and Girls teams each qualified for State 9 times, Placing 2ND twice and 3RD once. Personally he qualified for All-American honors at the Masters Level in Discus in both 1988 & 2001. He is also a member of the Northwestern Oklahoma University Athletic Hall of Fame.

Jerry and Kathy Freeze. Jerry & Kathy Freeze are the first community members of the Red Raider Athletic Hall of Fame due to their overwhelming support of Red Raider athletics. For the past eight years Jerry & Kathy have donated endless hours of their personal time keeping statistics. Their invaluable work didn't stop when their children graduated as they have continued their selfless donation of their time to this day. Jerry & Kathy represent the pride and commitment to excellence of the Red Raider community.

2006 Inductees
Anita Taggart - Class of 1991. 1988 State Cross Country Individual Champion. She won the event with a time of 12:47.6. In 1988 & 1989 she placed 5TH and 6TH respectively at the State Track and Field Meet in the 3200m. Taggart competed for four years in Track and three years in Cross Country at Wamego High School, winning numerous League and Regional honors. She attended Cloud County Community College on a running scholarship.
Coach Jamie Boring - Head Volleyball Coach at Wamego High School from 1987 to 2003, attaining a 420-146 record. Under her leadership, WHS won 3 State Championships – 1989, 1993 & 2000. Additionally, her teams were named 4A Program of the Year in 1991 and 1998, they won the NCKL Championship 6 times (1988, 1991, 1991, 1996, 2000 & 2001). Sub-State titles 5 times (1989, 1991, 1993, 2000 & 2003). She was the 4A Coach of the Year in 1989 and twice selected as the KVA All Star Team Head Coach in 1993 & 1998. Twenty-five of her players went on to play college Volleyball on scholarship.

David C. Career wins (117), 1994-1997. National Collegiate Wrestling Association Champion (285 lbs) - 2003.
2004 Inductees
Dick Chrest - lettered in Football, Track and Basketball. He held the School and All-League record for 15 free-throws in a single game; School and All-League single season free-throw record of 171. Chrest scored 27 points a game twice and averaged 18.9. He won the All-Jayhawk League scoring Championship by 85 points. He was the 5th player to join Wamego's 400 Club by scoring 435 points and was named an All-State Selection - 1952.
Lou Ann Thomas - Instrumental in getting Girls Track at Wamego High School and excelled at the shot put. 5TH place at the National AAU Olympic Finals – 1967 & 3RD in 1968. That same year she set the new Kansas record at 37'11". Thomas was the first girl on the WHS record board in 1969-1970 school year with a 37'4" throw. She also lettered in Basketball and softball at the University of Kansas.
Kristin Stallard – 2 Letters Basketball. NCKL best free throw percentage - 1995. 4 Letters Track. Qualified State Track all 4 yrs. NCKL Track Honor Roll 4 yrs. 3RD State 800m, 2ND place 3200m relay and held the school record in those events. She also qualified for the KU Relays. Sportsman of the Year - 1995.

Coach Westly "Pee Wee" Grout. Gave Wamego High School the nickname of "Red Raiders" in 1936. Head Football coach 1936-1939. His 1938 team went undefeated and became League Champions by defeating Highland Park at Washburn University's Moore Bowl.

Kevin LaChance - Kevin LaChance was inducted into the Hall of Fame as a community member for his service since 1999 as the "Voice of Red Raider Football" and co-sponsorship of the Pre-Season Splash. He has continued his service to the Red Raider Football team after his son's graduation in 2002. Kevin represents the pride and commitment to excellence of the Red Raider community.
Dick Rogers -- Class of 1939. Played Football for Wamego from 1936-1939. Voted All-League 1ST Team Captain and All-Star. In his Senior year the team was undefeated and Jayhawk League Champions. He was also 2ND team All-State. Mr. Rogers also played Basketball for 3 years and his team was the Jayhawk League Champion in 1938 as well as the Pottawatomie Champion. He was an All-League 1ST Team Guard in 1938 & 1939.

His Boys and Girls teams each qualified for State 9 times, Placing 2ND twice and 3RD once. Personally he qualified for All-American honors at the Masters Level in Discus in both 1988 & 2001. He is also a member of the Northwestern Oklahoma University Athletic Hall of Fame.

Anita Taggart - Class of 1991. 1988 State Cross Country Individual Champion. She won the event with a time of 12:47.6. In 1988 & 1989 she placed 5TH and 6TH respectively at the State Track and Field Meet in the 3200m. Taggart competed for four years in Track and three years in Cross Country at Wamego High School, winning numerous League and Regional honors. She attended Cloud County Community College on a running scholarship.
Coach Jamie Boring - Head Volleyball Coach at Wamego High School from 1987 to 2003, attaining a 420-146 record. Under her leadership, WHS won 3 State Championships – 1989, 1993 & 2000. Additionally, her teams were named 4A Program of the Year in 1991 and 1998, they won the NCKL Championship 6 times (1988, 1991, 1991, 1996, 2000 & 2001). Sub-State titles 5 times (1989, 1991, 1993, 2000 & 2003). She was the 4A Coach of the Year in 1989 and twice selected as the KVA All Star Team Head Coach in 1993 & 1998. Dick Chrest - lettered in Football, Track and Basketball. He held the School and All-League record for 15 free-throws in a single game; School and All-League single season free-throw record of 171. Chrest scored 27 points a game twice and averaged 18.9. He won the All-Jayhawk League scoring Championship by 85 points. He was the 5th player to join Wamego's 400 Club by scoring 435 points and was named an All-State Selection - 1952.
Lou Ann Thomas - Instrumental in getting Girls Track at Wamego High School and excelled at the shot put. 5TH place at the National AAU Olympic Finals – 1967 & 3RD in 1968. That same year she set the new Kansas record at 37'11". Thomas was the first girl on the WHS record board in 1969-1970 school year with a 37'4" throw. She also lettered in Basketball and softball at the University of Kansas.
Kristin Stallard – 2 Letters Basketball. NCKL best free throw percentage - 1995. 4 Letters Track. Qualified State Track all 4 yrs. NCKL Track Honor Roll 4 yrs. 3RD State 800m, 2ND place 3200m relay and held the school record in those events. She also qualified for the KU Relays. Sportsman of the Year - 1995.
